For new VP of Student Affairs, UHCL a Houston homecoming

Aaron J. Hart will become University of Houston-Clear Lake’s vice president for its new division of Student Affairs beginning July 1. Hart comes to UH-Clear Lake from University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he served as associate vice chancellor for Student Affairs since 2017.

Carol Nelson always knew she wanted to work with children. At first, she thought she’d become a pediatrician, but realized that her true calling was to teach young children to love books. Named Alvin ISD’s school superintendent in May, Nelson, a double University of Houston-Clear Lake alumna, said she learned that building relationships was the key to any position she held in an organization.

When the university posted an opening in her area of expertise—alumni relations management—she responded immediately and on July 1, began her new role as UH-Clear Lake’s director of alumni engagement.

Tittsworth, who is a UHCL graduate.
