Hawk Emergency Fund
Addressing the needs of students who have had suffered tragic costly losses, UHCL
has created the Hawk Emergency Fund. The fund was created to fill the gap and help
UHCL students pay for any education-related expenses they may have. Generous donors
have contributed more than $16,000 so far to help. As students emerge from their challenges,
more requests are received.
University friends who have survived the storm can make a difference to students who
have sustained devastating losses by contributing to the Hawk Emergency Fund (select the fund in the drop down menu).
Hurricane Harvey By the Numbers
- 150 students assisted through the One-Stop Harvey Assistance Services
- 89 requests for financial aid
- $7,000 given in emergency loans
- $15,000 given from the Hawk Emergency Fund
Volunteer Opportunities
UHCL faculty, staff and students continue to seek ways to give back by helping families
who were victims to Harvey’s wrath. Many volunteer opportunities are available including
two key events coordinated by the Student Life Office’s Student Leadership, Involvement
and Community Engagement.
Other individual opportunities are available that include various organizations and
shelters.
