University of Houston-Clear Lake President Ira K. Blake has named De’Awn Bunch as the university’s first Associate Vice President for Marketing and Communications. She will begin her role Aug. 20.

Building professions: Health Sciences Center at UHCL Pearland Campus

A $24.6 million Health Sciences and Classroom Building at UHCL Pearland Campus is scheduled to open in spring 2019. The facility will allow UHCL to expand enrollment to its successful health science programs, notably the RN-to-BSN and Licensed Professional Counselors programs. Future plans include opening a satellite operation of UHCL’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
