UHCL summer Friday Morning lectures: Vietnam 1969, Shutterfly

University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Friday Morning Continuing Education summer miniseries finishes up on July 26 with two lectures: a look back at 1969 Vietnam and how to build a Shutterfly picture album from your digital photos.

At 9 a.m., discuss events that took place in Vietnam in 1969, and how they are still playing out today on other battlefields. William Powers, director of UHCL’s Academic Offenders Program with the Texas Department of Corrections, leads this lecture. Whether or not you’re old enough to recall, events there have impacted your life.

At 11 a.m., learn the basics of assembling a Shutterfly Photo Book with Ellen King, retired teacher from Clear Creek ISD. Bring your own laptop computer and digital photos for a “hands-on, how-to” session on  putting together a professional-looking Shutterfly-printed album from your digital photos. Follow-up sessions are offered.

The Friday Morning program is open to all, regardless of age, residency, or academic background. The cost for each class in the summer miniseries is $12 after a $12 membership fee. To register or for more information, visit www.uhcl.edu/academics/extended/friday-morning-ce or call 281-283-3033.
