UHCL’s autism speaker series returns Sept. 7

University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities opens the 2019-2020 Autism Speaker Series with a discussion on how to assess and treat anxiety in those with autism spectrum disorder. The lecture is 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 in the Bayou Building Garden Room, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.

Eric Storch, vice chair and professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine will lead the discussion. The Autism Speaker Series is a free, monthly lecture provided by invited speakers and third-year graduate students in UH-Clear Lake’s behavior analysis program. Seating is limited and registration is required.

UHCL Harvest Fair set for Sept. 9-12

Vendors are invited to participate in University of Houston-Clear Lake’s annual Harvest Fair, organized by the University Staff Association. This year’s fair is Monday – Thursday, Sept. 9-12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The cost of each space is $35 per day. The space fee includes two 6-foot tables and two folding chairs in a 6x6-foot space. Limited electrical outlets are first come, first served. Table skirts are required; Additional tables are $5 a day and access to electricity will be $10 for entire event.

Tuesdays Habitat Work Days at UHCL

Is environmental sustainability important to you?  Join other volunteers on University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Habitat Work Days each Tuesday beginning 9 a.m. in the North Office Annex, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.

Volunteers clear paths, clean the pond and perform other conservation tasks, weather permitting. For more information, call 281-283-3946, or visit Habitats Work Days online. Large groups, please call ahead.
