Buddy Fair
Elementary students from three local districts enjoyed carnival games, performances and more as part of the annual Buddy Fair, hosted by the University of Houston-Clear Lake Student Council for Exceptional Children. The event, a collaboration among local schools, student organizations, faculty and community partners, gave special needs students the chance to pair up with a general education student to socialize and build relationships. The goal of the event was to foster inclusion in the classroom and prepare future educators on how to incorporate it in their teaching.
