University of Houston-Clear Lake recently promoted 11 faculty members, six of whom were elevated from assistant professors to associate professors with tenure, while five ascended from associate professors to full professors.

Twenty-nine teams of 112 science, technology, engineering and mathematics students from area high schools, colleges and universities vied for scholarships, internships, quadcopters and other prizes at STEM Challenge 2017, hosted April 8 at University of Houston-Clear Lake. Two sponsoring companies invited nine students to apply for internships.

Retired software engineer Mallik Putcha is a big believer in education, as evidenced by his four graduate degrees. He’s also a big believer in supporting those who supported him in his education and career. To that end, his family trust has donated $50,000 to the University of Houston-Clear Lake to help future students reach their own career goals.
