Fellowship supports research to improve knee replacements

Barrios Technology has awarded University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Ariful Bhuiyan a fellowship that will continue his ongoing research in the field of biomechanics. His current work focuses on evaluating and improving knee replacement devices, which are used to treat osteoarthritis in the knee.

Qatar Charity and the University of Houston-Clear Lake Diplomacy Institute formalized an agreement that will help to ensure that whatever challenges students may face in their educational journey, food insecurity will not be among them. The Qatar Charity Food Equity Initiative agreement was signed June 15.

Joint UHCL-ACC agreement fast-tracks nursing students to full degree

University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland and Alvin Community College have expanded their long-standing partnership to help address an acute shortage of baccalaureate-prepared nurses in the workforce. With the agreement, students can receive their bachelor of science in nursing from UHCL with just one additional semester of coursework after earning their associate degree in nursing from ACC.
