Blog: Group tours Omani cities, historical sites,

Our day began with visiting tombs, the remains of a castle, and archaeological site. As we explored the tomb of the sultan's mother, we learned an interesting piece of history: tombstones are not elaborate and are identical because everyone is considered equal, even the royal family.

Later, we visited the memorial for the prophet Imran, who is the father of Mary, Jesus' mother, according to the Omanis. As we ate our lunch in a picnic area nearby, we watched camels coming and going. Of course, we had to take some selfies with the camels, as well as feed and pet them.

Then, we went to the Souk, or shopping area, where members of our group found turbans, scarves, souvenirs and Frankincense. We ate dinner at a Lebanese restaurant, and the meat we had there was phenomenal. Our day ended with a flight back to Muscat to prepare for the next day's trip to Sur.
