University of Houston-Clear Lake Drone Academy at Pearland is hosting a Commercial Drone Expo on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UH-Clear Lake at Pearland, Health Science and Classroom Building, room 102, 1200 Pearland Parkway.
The event is held in collaboration with Skydio, an autonomous drone manufacturer.
The Commercial Drone Expo offers the community the opportunity to become educated on the use of drone technology across all industries. Experts will be on hand to share information about the ways in which drone training can result in career advancement for students studying science, design, photography, or engineering, as well as local fire and law enforcement agencies and emergency management personnel.
The agenda includes a presentation led by the Pearland Police Department Drone Team about how drones are used in life-saving missions.
Attendees will be able to hold the controller for a test flight and experience the Intelligent Flying Robot powered by AI. There will be hands-on demonstrations for drone inspections, mapping and modeling for industries including real estate, oil and gas exploration, weather monitoring, and more.
The drones will be displayed in the courtyard for an up-close view.
