Faculty recognized for commitment to quality enhancement program

Members of the University of Houston-Clear Lake Quality Enhancement Program Leadership Team celebrated the end of its year with a reception in December. During the event, UH-Clear Lake President Ira K. Blake recognized university faculty members who have completed the Quality Enhancement Program professional development workshops, developed Applied Critical Thinking-endorsed syllabi, taught the Applied Critical Thinking course and submitted an assessment to the university’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness. The Quality Enhancement Program, known as QEP, reflects and affirms the commitment of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the regional body for accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. Pictured are 15 of the faculty members who completed the QEP including the following: Adjunct faculty in Physics Muhammad Nasim Uddin; Lecturer of Environmental Science Gerald Pollack; Professor of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems Kwok-Bun Yue; Assistant Professor of Sociology Amy Lucas; Lecturer of Biological Sciences Stephen Gruber; Assistant Professor of Literature Ann Marcoline; Assistant Professor of Engineering Management Xiaojun “Gene” Shan; Lecturer of Humanities Anne Gessler; Lecturer of Mathematics Travis Knodel; Assistant Professor of Computer Science Kewei Sha; Assistant Professor of Art and Design Clay Leonard; Assistant Professor of Psychology Angela Kelling; College of Education adjunct faculty member Marlene Morgan; Assistant Professor of Psychology Nicholas Kelling; and Assistant Professor of Information Technology Lisa Lacher.
