Newly promoted boss? Learn leadership skills
Are you a newly promoted supervisor? Do you aspire to be? Attending this two-week
course, “Strategic Utilization of Leadership Skills,” Aug. 11-25, 8 a.m. – 4. p.m.
at University of Houston-Clear Lake, will give you the guidance you need to start
you on your new career path.
The course is part of the Center for Executive Education’s Management and Leadership
Certificate Program. Participants will learn characteristics of good leadership and
how to lead teams and organizations.
The cost of the course is $850. For certification, attendees must take the other five

UHCL students can register for Math Boot Camp
There’s no need to start the new semester with math anxiety. Kick your math skills
into high gear with Math Boot Camp, a free two-week course to help prepare University
of Houston-Clear Lake students for college-level math courses, including college algebra,
pre-calculus, calculus and more.
Learn from patient, skilled teachers who are committed to helping you master the concepts.
Any admitted UHCL student can participate, and the camp runs both in online and face-to-face
formats. Registration ends Aug. 6, and the camp runs Aug. 7-18. Math Boot Camp is
sponsored by the Title III Grant Program. To learn more about the camp or to register,

Fall 2017 open registration through Aug. 26
Enrolled University of Houston-Clear Lake students can register online for fall 2017
classes by 5 p.m. through Aug. 25, with late registration available Aug. 26–Sept.

UHCL’s Welcome Back Bash Sept. 1
Celebrate the start of the fall semester and new academic year at UH-Clear Lake’s
Welcome Back Bash, hosted by UHCL’s Orientation and New Student Programs and the UHCL
Alumni Association. Festivities take place Sept. 1 from 5-8 p.m. and feature free
food, games, giveaways, a photo booth, music, and vendors.
Find out how to become a student volunteer, or find out how to join one of UHCL’s
many student organizations. A group photo of all present students and alumni will
