Single tickets on sale Aug. 1 for Bayou Theater 2018-19 season
July 19, 2018 | UHCL Staff
The Bayou Theater at University of Houston-Clear Lake is preparing for a show-stopping
2018-19 season, with almost twice as many outstanding performances to offer Clear
Lake theater lovers than last season. The season, which covers nearly all musical
genres, features nationally and internationally recognized artists.
“Excellent deals for season packages have been available since June, but starting
Aug. 1 at 10 a.m., single tickets for all 18 shows will go on sale,” said Bayou Theater
Managing Director Alex Malone. “We hope people are as excited as we are to see performances
by Mandy Harvey from ‘America’s Got Talent’ and vocalist Graeme James, who’s on his
first U.S. tour all the way from New Zealand.”
Malone added that that Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar will present a special
performance of gospel music, and Alex Preston, a finalist on “American Idol,” are
two highlights of the season. “An expanded season like this would not be possible
without a wonderful sponsor like Opus Ocean Grille,” Malone said. “Their generosity
enables the arts in Clear Lake to continue to thrive.”
Longtime Clear Lake fan favorite Mercury will return for a four-concert orchestral
series. Bayou Theater will highlight the holidays with thrilling performances by Annie
Moses Band, a Juilliard-trained group of six siblings playing the highest caliber
of holiday bluegrass selections, and Riders in the Sky, a Grammy Award winning group
whose music is known by anyone who has seen “Toy Story 2” or “Monsters, Inc.”
“Purchasing tickets ahead of time and taking advantage of season packages are still
the most affordable way to enjoy the full season,” Malone said.
