U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors to perform free concerts at Bayou Theater

The U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors, the Army’s official touring jazz orchestra will be performing a wide variety of styles from Dixieland and swing classics at University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Bayou Theater on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free and open to the public.

The orchestra, known as “America’s Big Band,” plays jazz favorites from artists like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, modern jazz and beyond. The 19-member ensemble tours nationally and internationally as directed by the Department of the Army and serves as a liaison between the Army and the American people. Its primary mission is to connect America to its Army through the universal language of music.
