UHCL Day at San Jacinto South lets students apply on-the-spot

Most community college students are employed while going to school, making it difficult
for those students interested in continuing their education after graduating to find
the time to do the legwork involved with that long, often complicated process. That’s
why on April 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., University of Houston Clear Lake is hosting
UHCL Day at San Jacinto College – South Campus in the Welcome Center.
“UHCL Day is an opportunity to provide a one-stop shop for San Jacinto South students
to interact with representatives from admissions, financial aid, international admissions
and transfer advising,” said UHCL-Pearland Campus Enrollment Management Coordinator
Erica Chance. “We are hoping to make it easier for students to apply, submit documents
for on-the-spot admission for summer and fall, and meet with transfer advisers and
admission counselors to simplify the transfer process to UHCL.”
Chance added that UHCL Day was for students wishing to apply to any academic program
at UHCL. “We are able to provide students with admission decisions on the same day,”
she said. “We know that many students simply can’t make it to the UHCL campus, so
we are bringing all our services to them on their campus.”
