An exhibition of art created by art faculty will be on display in University of Houston-Clear
Lake’s Art Gallery, with an opening preview reception Nov.15 from 5-7 p.m. The exhibition
opens Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 18.
Six full-time faculty and seven adjunct faculty members of UH-Clear Lake’s Art Department
are submitting art from across all media, said Assistant Professor of Art and Design
Lauren Kussro. “This is a chance for students and faculty to see what the art faculty
is doing in their areas of research,” she said. “This will showcase all of us and
the work we do.”
Kussro, who teaches printmaking at UHCL, said that she will submit standard prints,
a piece made from fabric that’s been screen printed and constructed into 3-D forms,
as well as other pieces.
Adjunct professors will be submitting one piece and full-time faculty may submit up
to five pieces. “We’ll have works in ceramics, sculpture, collage, drawing, printmaking,
video, photography, graphic design and textiles,” Kussro said. “It’s a collaborative
effort. We will figure out how the show will be arranged together. I hope this exhibition
makes our work more accessible to everyone.”
