UHCL operations to remain online through April 30

In response to Harris County’s extension of the Stay at Home orders, University of Houston-Clear Lake will operate online through April 30. This includes UH-Clear Lake Pearland, UHCL Texas Medical Center and other off-site teaching locations.

UHCL moved all spring semester classes online beginning March 23, with university staff being advised to telecommute unless deemed essential to be on campus. Essential services that continue to function on campus include Campus Safety; Housing and Dining Services; Environmental Health and Safety. Some Admissions, Records and Financial Aid staff our on campus for processing purposes, but those wishing to meet with staff need to set up a virtual appointment.

All university sponsored events through May 31 are canceled. Summer classes scheduled to begin before July 1, which includes the May mini session and early Summer classes, will be conducted online/remotely.

Students requiring support services and resources can contact the appropriate offices through email to establish virtual assistance. The Alfred R. Neumann Library remains closed, but also offers online student services. Faculty and staff will work remotely and have been offered access to multiple online professional development opportunities through LinkedIn Learning.

“Like every such moment that has gone before, it is not only the crisis itself but also how we respond that matters most,” said UHCL President Ira K. Blake. “The Hawk family is responding as only Hawks know how: with grit, resiliency, and a spirit that cannot be broken!”
