Eight University of Houston-Clear Lake faculty, staff and students attended the Bay
Area Houston Economic Partnership luncheon at South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference
Center’s Crystal Ballroom on May 17. The event’s featured speaker was Reid Ryan, president
of business operations for the Houston Astros.
Ryan’s presentation focused on the elements that led to the Astros’ success in the
World Series: teamwork, leadership, and never settling. Ryan is the son of major league
baseball pitcher and Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Nolan Ryan Jr.
