It's never too early to start thinking about applying for college. Summer registration at University of Houston-Clear Lake begins April 15 and continues through June 3, with financial aid opportunities still available. Begin by speaking with an advisor who can help new or transfer students get "there"- even if they aren't sure where "there" is yet.
Registration for the fall 2022 semester also begins April 15 and runs through Aug. 19.
For those transferring from community colleges or other universities, Kristi Rickman, director of Transfer Advising and Student Transitions, said enrolling now was important, especially for those needing online classes. "Online classes fill up first, so finish your classes at your current college, but request your college transcript to be sent now and then request it again after you're done," she said.
Assistant Vice President of Student Engagement Yvonne Hernandez Friedman said first-generation college students should know that UH-Clear Lake is dedicated to their success. "This is a place where you can come and get to know your professors and feel a sense of belonging," she said. "We are home to many first-generation college students- including myself."
"Anyone looking for a close community to get involved and gain leadership skills as well as acquire personal academic success should look no further than UHCL," said Associate Dean of Students Iliana Melendez. "April 15 isn't just the deadline for taxes. It's also registration day at UHCL. I hope more people become part of our Hawk family and join us here on campus this fall."
