Legendary American composers tell stories through music: Apollo Chamber Players

At first glance, the names Florence Price, Jessie Montgomery and Adolphus Hailstork might not mean much. But their contributions as classical music composers are profound, and the Apollo Chamber Players will be showcasing their work at their upcoming performance, entitled “American Legends,” at University of Houston-Clear Lake on May 7 at 7:30 p.m.

About 40 Warhammer 40K enthusiasts and 150 other gamers gathered hours at University of Houston-Clear Lake for the Holiday Gaming Thing and Warhammer 40K Rise of the Empire Grand Tournament in December. Associate Professor of Psychology Steven Sutherland, director for the Serious Games and Simulations degree program, said the event was about much more than playing games.
