Houston’s history is filled with stories of Mexican-American activists and organizations that have mobilized the community toward change. Lydia Newcomb, who will be receiving her master’s in cross cultural and global studies from University of Houston-Clear Lake in May, is presenting an exhibit entitled, “¡Ya Basta!” in the Julia Ideson Building in the Houston Metropolitan Research Center (HMRC) on April 4 from 6-7:30 p.m.

Ten University of Houston-Clear Lake students participating in the Model Arab League conference, hosted at UH-Clear Lake Feb. 16-17, chose to intensively research the Republic of Yemen and represent it at the conference, which was attended by 150 students from six colleges and universities.
