ACC students can take classes at UHCL Pearland Campus

Pearland-area students enrolled at Alvin Community College can now take classes at University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus, thanks to an agreement struck by the two institutions.

This fall semester, eight of ACC's core-curriculum classes are being offered at UHCL Pearland Campus. Each course is transferrable to other public colleges and universities in Texas. Classes begin Aug. 21.

The day and evening courses include College Algebra, Composition I and II, Federal Government, Principles of Macroeconomic, General Psychology and U.S. History I and II.

UH-Clear Lake President Dr. William A. Staples said partnering with ACC benefits students who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree. "We are excited about partnering with Alvin Community College as they offer classes at UHCL Pearland Campus this fall,” Staples said. “We have a long-standing relationship with ACC, who has partnered with UHCL since we opened our doors in 1974, and we look forward to enhancing our partnership even further to expand student access to higher education.”

The UHCL Pearland Campus is located at 1200 Pearland Parkway in Pearland.

Alvin Community College is also offering classes at Alvin Independent School District Shadow Creek High School, near Pearland Town Center.
