UHCL honors veterans at ceremony

Hundreds of educators from more than 20 area schools, universities and community colleges discussed scholastic programs, new applications and best practices for engaging students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the Greater Houston Area STEM Conference at the University of Houston-Clear Lake on Saturday, March 4.
A total 315 educators and exhibitors were at the daylong event, hosted by UH-Clear Lake and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. More than 30 lectures, presentations and lab tours were offered, including hands-on activities designed for students of all ages and abilities.
The conference, titled “New Horizons and Innovations in STEM,” also featured more than 20 STEM exhibitors. Pictured are attendees browsing exhibitors’ tables during a morning coffee break. Organizers plan to make this an annual conference.
