Legislators, special guests attend UHCL Holiday Appreciation Reception

Holiday Reception
 University of Houston-Clear Lake President Ira. K. Blake welcomed community friends and spoke about the university’s many successes in the past year during her annual Holiday Appreciation Reception. In addition to mentioning enrollment growth, the president spoke about the university’s rise in rankings as reported in U.S. News and World Report, as well as recognition of the university in the top 10% Best Colleges for Veterans from the College Factual. Pictured are state Rep. Ed Thompson, President Blake, state Rep. Dennis Paul, Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership President Bob Mitchell and UH-Clear Lake Student Government Association President Mohamed AbdelGilil.

 

Holiday Reception 2
 Alvin Community College President Christal Albrecht visited with President Blake during the reception. Since 2017, UHCL Pearland has hosted ACC core classes, which are transferrable to UHCL. In summer 2019, during ACC’s 70th anniversary Community Breakfast, President Albrecht presented one of the Community Partner Awards to President Blake.
