Learn how to boost your nursing career at UHCL Pearland conference

If you’re interested in pursuing or advancing your career in nursing, attend the free conference “Launching Nursing Careers to New Heights,” 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 4 at University of Houston-Clear Lake Pearland Campus.

Attendees will discover how a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree can open doors to many career paths, such as clinical specialists, public health nursing, clinical research, case managers, nurse managers, leaders and mentorship roles, to name a few. A BSN is prerequisite for acceptance into master of nursing programs.

For those ready to enroll in UHCL's RN-BSN program, admission fees will be waived

Several workshops are available, including discussions on traditional and non-traditional careers, personal development and leadership and on applying for financial aid.

Keynote speaker is Tina Cuellar, president of the Texas Nurses Association District 9 and a director on the TNA board. She is the director of live review at Elsevier/HESI. Elsevier is an international information and analytics company and one of the world’s major providers of scientific, technical and medical information. Health Education Systems Incorporated (HESI) is a U.S. company that provides exams and study material to help prepare student nurses for their professional licensure exam. Cuellar is a former associate professor and associate dean for student affairs and admissions at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She has also served on the adjunct faculty of UHCL’s nursing program.
