UHCL hosts Chinese chemistry students at materials science workshop

University of Houston-Clear Lake’s College of Science and Engineering hosted 44 students and 10 instructor chaperones from one of China’s leading research institutes in a workshop for materials science chemistry that took place Jan. 25- Feb. 1. The students are from the College of Materials Sciences and Engineering at Jilin University in Changchun, capital of China’s northeast Jilin Province. The students included 18 undergraduates and 26 graduate- or doctoral-level students.

They are shown holding a banner that reads, “The College of Material Sciences and Engineering of Jilin University at UHCL’s International Workshop.”

Among those holding the banner are Ju Kim, dean of UH-Clear Lake’s College of Science and Engineering, Daniel Zerong Wang, program chair and professor of chemistry, and Randall Zhaohui Xu, associate professor of accounting in UHCL's College of Business. Wang organized the workshop; Xu coordinated the event. For more information on UHCL’s chemistry program, visit www.uhcl.edu/chemistry.
