UH-Clear Lake students are recipients of the College of Business William E. Shock Scholarship

Two University of Houston-Clear Lake students are recipients of the College of Business William E. Shock Scholarship. Joshua Jenkins and Andy Choe each received $4,000 scholarships to be split between fall and spring semesters. Choe is an undergraduate student in Accounting; Jenkins is pursuing a master’s degree in Professional Accounting.

Shock, senior tax agent for Occidental Petroleum Corporation and UHCL alumnus, earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2003 and Master of Business Administration in 2006. Shortly afterward, he established the scholarship to assist other business students. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he also helped establish UHCL’s Veterans Services Office. He and his wife Camille – who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the university as well – are active in the UHCL Alumni Association. In 2010, they received The President’s Cabinet Philanthropy Award for their sustained generosity.
