UHCL alum joins Peace Corps, will travel to Albania to teach

When Rebekkah Chatham was a college freshman, she decided to attend an information session about the Peace Corps. It was intriguing, and after she transferred to University of Houston-Clear Lake, she decided to tailor her interests to gain the college experiences that the Peace Corps needed so she could join their ranks. She graduated in May 2018, and in January, her interest in the Peace Corps will become a reality.
Farewell Angelina kicks off "Women and Wine" tour at UHCL's Bayou Theater

Named after a Bob Dylan song made famous by Joan Baez, Farewell Angelina, an all-female country group featuring four powerhouse vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, will make University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Bayou Theater a stop on their “Women and Wine” tour on Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

When Will Althoff got out of the Army, he enrolled at University of Houston-Clear Lake, unsure about whether he would find the same sense of belonging as he did while in the military. After taking (Lecturer of Literature and First-Year Experience) Wanalee Romero’s First Year Experience class, he became a peer mentor, a teaching assistant and ultimately started working in the Human Factors and Ergonomics research lab that led him to find his career aspiration in human factors psychology.

UHCL student attends job fair, gets hired in the lobby

Ashley Shed did not think job fairs were a place where you actually got hired. Shed, who is graduating in a few weeks from University of Houston-Clear Lake with her bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies with early childhood-6 certification, planned to attend a job fair earlier in November and simply distribute her resume to school districts, then go home and wait to be contacted.
UHCL working to expand study abroad programs
