UHCL researching novel approach to tackling opioid addiction

Two University of Houston-Clear Lake psychology professors and their student team have been conducting novel research into treating opioid addiction – not by manipulating or substituting the drug, but rather by manipulating the body's biochemical reactions that cause dependence and tolerance to the drug.

“Larock’s Comprehensive Organic Transformations” was originally published in 1989. Its third edition, co-authored by a team of scientists including University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Assistant Professor of Chemistry Anton Dubrovskiy and his wife, Adjunct Chemistry Instructor Nataliya Markina, has been published and nominated for a PROSE award finalist in the Multivolume Reference/Science category.
UHCL students' video game 'Code of Aegis' wins educational award

For video-game fanatics, getting paid to play is the ultimate dream. While University of Houston-Clear Lake students majoring in digital media studies, didn’t actually get paid, they won a prestigious award for creating a video game titled “Code of Aegis” at the Interservice/Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference recently held in Orlando, Fla.
