Blog: Profs teach at Kenyan university, evaluate study abroad possibilities
June 24, 2019 | Mike McMullen
We (Dr. Woldu and I) have settled into our teaching schedule at the United States
International University in Nairobi. We have had several discussions with faculty
and deans about future collaboration between United States International University
and UHCL. The campus is located in the northeastern section of Nairobi, surrounded
by the upscale Kansarani neighborhood. The largest university research library in
East Africa is on the campus of USIU, and scholars from Africa, the Middle East, and
Europe are frequently passing through. Both of us were able to attend a lecture by
Ngugi wa Thiong’o, an internationally known Kenyan novelist and post-colonial theorist.
